Tariq NasriEmployment Relations Adviser
During my time at Employsure, my role was an Employment Relations Adviser – providing advice and support to clients regarding all workplace relations matters. Specifically, I would regularly advise on disciplinary matters, grievances, terminations and redundancies, industrial instruments including the Fair Work Act and modern awards as well as wage calculations and underpayment matters. The objective was to deliver value to the client whether it be via a best practice approach with the aim of mitigating all risk, or adopting a tailored approach to suit the client’s needs.
When I left I took my skills and workplace relations knowledge from Employsure to pursue a new position in a generalist capacity within the human resources industry. Today, I’m a human resources Business Partner within the transport industry putting to practice the processes I would so often provide advice to clients about.
Employsure is unique with respect to the exposure and experience it provided me. Working as a specialist adviser I truly learned the niches within the workplace relations industry and obtained knowledge in key areas such as modern award interpretation, the calculation of wages and underpayments and so much more.
Employsure provided me with the confidence to provide valuable and reliable advice regardless of my industry. In my current capacity I use on a daily basis the techniques, tools and process that I learned whilst at Employsure because I know it works. I definitely felt empowered to challenge the status quo, and would recommend Employsure as an employer for anyone who is hungry and willing to go the distance to do what it takes to achieve excellence as a true specialist in workplace relations.
Tariq’s younger brother Bilal joined Employsure in 2016 on the Employment Relations graduate program following in his brother’s footsteps.
Maureen KilmartinAdministration Manager
At Employsure, I initially started as a Client Services Workforce Planner, and was lucky enough to benefit from Employsure’s exponential growth and advance my career to manage the Sydney office. My role included management of the facilities, fit out, reception/concierge and various special projects.
After a year and two months at Employsure, I am now the Office Manager for Orange Sky Laundry, a not-for-profit organisation that provides free mobile laundry services and showers to our homeless friends living on the street. Due to personal circumstances my fiancé and I decided to move back to our hometown in Brisbane. Had there been an option to stay on with Employsure, I would have taken the opportunity and still would, Employsure is an amazing company to work for!
Orange Sky Laundry could easily be the fastest growing not-for-profit organisation in Australia. Six months ago, I was the fourth employee helping to manage 400 volunteers. Today, we have over 600 volunteers and triple the staff at headquarters. Without my time at Employsure, I would not have had the capability to adapt and thrive in an exciting but sometimes chaotic environment.
At Employsure, I had the opportunity to work with various extraordinary people all experts in their field. The Managing Director, Talent Manager, and Head of IT, were all incredible mentors and without their guidance and support, I would not have the skills or career aspirations I have today. Employsure is very much a people business, and the opportunities are endless for those who are adaptable, committed and passionate in providing value to the organisation and their clients.
Adam TsuiEmployment Relations Consultant
During my time at Employsure I was a member of the Consultancy Services team working as an office based consultant. My role was assisting small and medium sized businesses SMEs understand and maintaining compliance with Fair Work legislation and other key workplace principles. What I really enjoyed about the role was being a trusted partner to employers nationally and from various industries. It gave me a lot of exposure and experience with consulting and tailoring my approach.
After two years at Employsure I decided to return to a HR Generalist role, with the opportunity to work as an internal business partner – shaping organisational strategy. Today, I am a HR Advisor for an international consultancy firm; providing world-class local solutions in infrastructure, urban growth, energy, mining and natural resource management.
Employsure provided me with a strong foundation in employment relations which is a critical skill-set for any successful HR professional. Further, the role and opportunities provided at Employsure developed my consulting skills which allowed me to present to clients a range of options that allow them to succeed.
