Festive Season shut down notice period – update. (Last Updated On: October 30, 2017)

Are you planning to shut down over the festive season?

Employers planning to shut down at any point during the Christmas and New Year period, should now be confirming close dates and notifying staff accordingly.

Many Awards and Agreements allow employers to direct staff to take annual leave, or unpaid leave when annual leave has been exhausted, during a close-down period. There are however, different requirements under each Award about the minimum notice needed for staff. Read the full list of Awards here.
