Helping small business owners tackle the tricky world of HR is the aim of a new national campaign launched by Australia’s leading workplace relations consultancy.
Employsure’s HR Boot Camp offers small business owners free resources, guides and webinars covering various aspects of HR. The aim of the campaign is simple: to help business owners manage their obligations and protect their business, according to Employsure’s employment relations expert Thorunn Arnadottir.
“There are so many aspects to effectively running the HR obligations of a business, it can be hard to know where to start,” she says. “With HR Boot Camp we cover the essential topics and give business owners the foundations they need to run a safe, compliant business.”
The resources have been designed with small business owners in mind, tackling the common obstacles small business owners face in managing employees and meeting their obligations.
“Effective HR isn’t a set-and-forget exercise,” Thorunn says. “It takes constant work and refinement, so even if you feel you’re doing it well, this could be a good opportunity to review your current practices and incorporate some new ideas into your business.”
HR Boot Camp has been designed by industry experts, with different resources being unveiled over the next three months. The resources are free, and will include core topics such as Work Health and Safety, Managing Employees, Company Culture and an interactive Workbook with case studies and practical advice.
“HR Boot Camp is a one-stop-shop for the fundamentals of HR which, if you get them right, means you can spend more time doing what you do best: running your business,” Thorunn added.
