Sunday Penalty Rate Changes for 2019
As part of a staggered change to Sunday penalty rates, 1 July 2019 saw a reduction to certain penalty rates for employees under the Retail, Hospitality, Fast Food and Pharmacy Awards. Some of those reductions will continue in 2020.
Here’s everything you need to know:
Changes for the: General Retail Industry Award 2010
Notes: There are different rates for shiftworkers and non-shiftworkers.

Changes for the: Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2010
Notes: No changes for casuals on Sunday, and no changes in 2020.

Notes: These are the last year of changes. They affect Level 1 employees only. Level 2 and 3 employees penalties remain as outlined in the Award.
