Telecommunications giant, Telstra, has taken monitoring their employee productivity to the next level with the introduction of an electronic belt.
The use of the new electronic belt, known as Actigraph tri-axial accelerometer GT3X, can allow employers to track an employee’s every movement.
For the moment, Telstra has only strapped the electronic belt to volunteer employees but the company is pleased with the results.
Telstra has said that the belts have been an important instrument in the design of their new Sydney office fit-out and tightening their own “corporate belt” by reducing rental space through hot-desking and activity based working, including working from home.
