Cathy has tertiary qualifications in both science and work health and safety. Cathy joined Employsure in August 2016 as part of the Graduate Program to gain further experience in work health and safety and develop skills in employment relations.
Cathy’s key interests lie in assisting clients with understanding and achieving their employment relations and health and safety responsibilities in the workplace.
Jessica uses her experience and know-how to help small to medium businesses get a fair go, by keeping compliant while getting the best commercial outcome available to them.
Karen has worked for the Fair Work Ombudsman as a Legal Officer which allows her to intimately understand the regulator’s approach to creating a fair and safe workplace. With more than three years of experience as an Industrial and Legal Officer for a major employer association in the building and construction industry, she understands deeply the workplace and industrial concerns of businesses.
Karen has worked as an adviser in employment relations since 2006. In June 2014, Karen was inspired to work for Employsure as an Employment Relations Adviser. She strives to provide commercially astute solutions to clients, given her extensive knowledge and experience in both advisory and litigious employment matters on both the employee’s and the employer’s behalf.
Karen studied combined degrees in Law and Commerce from the University of NSW and had worked as a solicitor in private law firms before joining Employsure.
Karen is a native speaker in both English and Mandarin. She enjoys assisting clients from different backgrounds in various industries and particularly enjoys helping clients from diverse backgrounds to comply with the employment relations legislation, while still protecting the unique interests of each business.
Alan has a very diverse and skilled work health and safety background, with extensive experience implementing health and safety management systems and driving improvements in safety culture. He provides effective, practical and simple solutions with the correct advice that is clearly communicated and understood.
Alan commenced his career in safety as a member of the Safety, Health and Radiation department with ERA in the mid-1980’s. Since then he has worked on various mining and mineral processing workplaces as well as some interesting exposure to the airline maintenance industry. Prior to joining Employsure, Alan also worked at Australia Zoo as the HR Director.
Alan completed an apprenticeship in electronics with the Australian Navy, he also has a graduate certificate in Process Engineering and an MBA. His qualifications give him a solid foundation to understand and assist with a myriad of business challenges. This is backed by a genuine desire to help clients resolve their specific WHS challenges so they can focus on their core business deliverables, their corporate vision, their strategy and the ever-present bottom line requirements.
Renee’s passion for human resources started when studying a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in International Business and Finance and working in hospitality. This passion turned into a career once she completed her Masters in Human Resource Management at the University of Wollongong in 2014.
Since then, Renee has had a diverse and global career in the industry attaining experience working in specialist recruitment in Sydney in the private sector and working as a Human Resources Coordinator in Canada.
Renee joined the Employsure team in December 2016 as an Employment Relations Adviser and in October 2017 was promoted to the Field Consultancy team as a Senior Employment Relations Consultant. Renee’s strengths lie in her ability to tailor policies and procedures to Employsure’s diverse range of clients by understanding their business needs and requirements, while ensuring fair and safe work practices.
Matt has a very strong and diverse health, safety and business management background, stemming from the completion of a Master’s Degree in Business (MBA) from the University of the Sunshine Coast. Following graduation, Matt’s health and safety journey began over 10 years ago as the Health and Safety Manager of Australia Zoo on the Sunshine Coast, where he specialised in high risk safety.
Prior to joining Employsure, Matt was the Health and Safety Manager for a civil construction company that contracted its services to major mining companies such as Rio Tinto, BMA and Anglo America Coal. As a senior manager, Matt was responsible for developing and implementing the company’s safety management system, as well as working directly with employees on the ground regarding their safety and wellbeing.
In July 2016, Matt joined Employsure as a Health and Safety Consultant. Matt has since advanced to the role of National Work Health and Safety Practice Leader. Matt works directly with Field Consultants undertaking health and safety compliance reviews and is a critical driver for cross skilling the Consulting workforce for the purpose of improving the client experience. Matt specialises in high risk activities, and is looking forward to working with businesses to assist them with reducing those risks and ensuring their workers go home safe every day.
Corinne holds Bachelor degree qualifications in Law and Business (Human Resource Management), and a Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety.
From her previous role as a generalist Human Resource Manager for 150 staff, Corinne has extensive experience in policy development and implementation, performance management, return-to-work coordination, and strategy development for effective staff performance.
Corinne’s expertise lays in customer service focused industries, with over 13 years’ experience. Her ability lies in being able to understand and relate to the practical realities faced by small business in effectively managing their staff. With an exceedingly high level of attention to detail, Corinne advocates the importance and impact effective policy development, implementation and management can have in assisting a business in reaching its strategic objectives.

Jacinta has a diverse background in human resources (HR), which stems from performing HR roles within the blue collar, retail and media industries. This is complemented by the Bachelor of Business she studied at Griffith University, where she completed a double major in Human Resources and Management.
Prior to working with Employsure, Jacinta worked with News Limited and dealt with the complexities of Australia’s national workplace relations system, with her day to day role involving the interpretation of Modern Awards and Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs), as well as dealing with existing Australian Workplace Agreements. Jacinta also has experience in drafting and negotiating EBAs and as such is an expert on the complex nature of industrial awards and agreements.
Jacinta enjoys working closely with Employsure’s clients and finds the best part of the role is knowing that the solutions put in place by Employsure are contributing to the success of a business.
Brandon joined the Employsure team in February 2016 as an Employment Relations Graduate upon the completion of his Bachelor of Business at the University of Technology, Sydney.
Specialising in human resources, business law and consulting, Brandon has developed a strong passion for business and the employment relations field. Brandon has an extensive background in customer service, with over three years experience in assisting and maintaining relationships with customers.
Joining Employsure has provided Brandon with the ability to share his knowledge of employment relations in a way which can assist others in improving their understanding of entitlements, obligations, rights and responsibilities in the workplace.

Peter’s working background includes over nine years’ experience in the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) field. Peter’s work experience includes civil construction in telecommunications, industrial services in production processing on mine sites and commercial and industrial waste management services.
A move into insurance has seen Peter at a national insurer providing OH&S expertise both in-house and to a variety of industry-based clients requiring improvements with identified health and safety shortfalls, value-added service in improvement strategies, mitigating risk exposure and corrective action surveillance.
Peter has extensive commercial property insurance experience and various leadership roles in both local and national safety management teams with well-known Australia wide organisations. This has enabled Peter to develop a more rounded and fluid approach to risk management which can be adapted to all types of industry.
Peter has a Masters of Occupational, Health and Safety specialising in occupational safety including theory and practice in behavioural based safety cultures.
Peter received his accreditation as an internationally recognised Principal OH&S and Injury Management Auditor with Exemplar Global in 2009.
Prior to joining Employsure, Julie worked in various employee relations roles within the NSW Government, including investigator roles with the NSW Department of Industrial Relations and the Fair Work Ombudsman. This, coupled with Julie’s own experience running a small business with her husband, gives Julie a well-rounded view of how to manage employment relations issues around the constraints of a small business.
Julie works closely with Employsure’s diverse range of clients to understand their businesses and requirements, while delivering tailored outcomes and solutions. As a field consultant, she feels the best part of her role is meeting and getting to know each client and helping them to with the management of their people, ultimately leading to success.

Tim is a dedicated professional, possessing over seven years’ experience managing work health and safety and has exposure to quality, human resources and operational management. Tim has the proven ability in advising, influencing and mentoring the development of current risk and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
Prior to joining Employsure as a Work Health and Safety Consultant in August 2016, Tim worked in Heavy Vehicle Transport, Warehousing and Distribution and Food Processing environments as a Safety Manager. Tim began his career in Health and Safety as a Health and Safety Coordinator for Tabcorp.
Tim holds a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, as well as Auditing qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, Quality Management Systems and Food Safety (Lead Food Safety Auditor). Tim also possesses Certificate IV Training and Assessment, coupled with extensive adult group and on-the-job training experience.
Tim enjoys using his knowledge to assist our clients to develop and maintain compliance in all aspects of work health and safety.
Jason has come to specialise in work health and safety (WHS), human resources and employment matters through first hand experience in managing staff and businesses in the hospitality industry.
Jason’s experience includes managing, training and operating large 5 star hotels and small budget accommodation establishments, corporate hospitality offices and function centres, all whilst still managing his own small business in photography and following his passion of flight when he became a pilot of both fixed wing and Rotary aircraft.
Through these experiences Jason has come to appreciate and understand the commercial pressures placed upon businesses and how best to manage employees and operational matters over different points in their life cycle.
Throughout Jason’s career, WHS has been his number one priority. One of his greatest accomplishments from his responsibilities in the WHS front was having the NSW division of a popular hotel chain bench marked and silver recognised on the green globe initiative.
After managing the human resources and WHS of four events centres with close to 1,000 employees, Jason joined Employsure in September 2014.
George Michael is a Victorian based employment relations and workplace health and safety consultant who has gained human resources and workplace relations experience by working across diverse industries, including professional services, consultancy, outsourcing, financial services and blue collar environments. This experience has assisted George to provide timely, practical and commercial advice to employers on day-to-day workplace relations issues and compliance with employment legislation.
George has completed a Bachelor of Psychology Degree and Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety. He has extensive HR generalist experience on advising employers on workplace relations and complex litigation matters. George prides himself on his ability to quickly build and foster relationships with clients. Above all, he is passionate about keeping Australian workplaces fair and safe.

Sara is a dedicated and client focused human resource management professional. Sara completed a Bachelor of Business and Commerce with a major in Human Resource Management and Business Management at Monash University. She has since worked in the professional services industry as a Human Resources Consultant, where she worked closely with senior management teams on the development and implementation of human resources programs, policies and procedures and was responsible for providing advice and guidance to the organisation on employment relations and people management.
Through this experience, Sara developed a passion for helping business managers navigate through the complexities of workplace relations and promoting effective employment relationships to ultimately enable operational efficiency and increased business performance as a result.
Sara joined Employsure in 2016 as an Employment Relations Consultant, where she is able to combine her skills and experience with her passion for service excellence to help clients achieve their employment and business objectives.
Matilda started her career working for a medium business in the construction, oil and gas, and mining industry on large scale projects across Australia.
Matilda has worked in both human resources and health and safety, completing certificates in Occupational Health and Safety, Rehabilitation and Return to Work and Training and Assessing. These certificates aided the compliance requirements for working in the industry and provided a firm knowledge of legislation interpretation and practises.
Continuing with her career development, Matilda commenced a Bachelor of Business (Majoring in Human Resources and Management) at Griffith University. Whilst working and studying, Matilda was able to apply real-life situations to the academic practices and vice-versa. This gave Matilda a strong foundation for employee Relations, industrial relations and human resources.
Matilda was able to demonstrate these skills and experiences and was promoted to Employment Relations Team Leader, overseeing human resources and safety. After working for almost six years in the industry, Matilda progressed to consulting.
Matilda enjoys helping small businesses and soon joined Employsure to continue consulting, for all industry types. Whilst working for Employsure, Matilda has been able to help a number of clients with compliance, interpretation of legislation and documentation. Matilda’s strengths are helping small business owners with interpretation legislation and understanding how they can manage their employees to get the best result for both employer and employees.
Amanda has a very diverse and varied employment background, which largely centred around the operations of small to medium business enterprises.
Following the completion of a Bachelor of Science (Physics and Mathematics) at James Cook University, Amanda joined the Queensland Government Department of Public Works (formerly QBuild) where she spent most of her time as the Senior Procurement Officer. Her role included dealing with government departments and local small businesses in purchasing and contracting. During this time Amanda was nominated in the Emerging Leaders Program, where she was afforded the opportunity to study a Masters in Business Administration at James Cook University.
It was through the completion of this degree that Amanda took the leap into private enterprise and operated her own business for a period of eight years with office locations in Darwin, Cairns, Townsville, Mt Isa and Mackay. Experiencing first-hand the challenges of business, Amanda took time to complete a Bachelor of Laws at James Cook University to better facilitate her business operations.
This study lead to an opportunity to divest from the business and focus on work health and safety systems, employment relations, and business development for a national group of companies employing hundreds of employees and contractors in every state and territory of Australia.
In May 2016, Amanda joined Employsure as an Employment Relations Field Consultant in the North Queensland area. Amanda brings exceptional local knowledge and an in depth understanding of employee relations to clients to deliver practical solutions to business.
With a Bachelor Degree in Education, Darren understands that every individual learns differently and therefore simple and clear information is vital in order to develop a solid knowledge base.
Having worked for over eight years in health and safety, Darren brings experience from various size organisations and industries focusing on the development and use of safety systems.
Working alongside senior managers to assist in decision making and educating operational staff, Darren understands the importance of easy and user friendly processes for all levels of an organisation to access.
Darren’s many accomplishments include maintaining and obtaining SAI Global and Federal Safety Commissioner certifications and managing national projects and safety initiatives.
Kurt has a very diverse background, stemming from the completion of Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wollongong, and postgraduate qualifications in Law and Business at the University of Technology, Sydney.
While at University, Kurt worked for a local law practice and also gained experience as a tax adviser.
In August 2015, Kurt joined Employsure as an Employment Relations Graduate and has since moved to Employsure’s Employment Relations (Office) Consultancy team, where he currently works assisting new clients by tailoring their employment documents to assist with compliance.
Kurt is a keen soccer fan, often getting up in the early hours of the morning to watch games, and is an active member of Employsure’s running club.
Originating from Western Australia, Lea has had varied experience in industrial relations and human resources. She also has invaluable first hand experience as a small business owner, which allows her to personally understand the challenges Australian SMEs face.
After completing an undergraduate degree in Psychology, Lea undertook a Masters of Commerce in Human Resources. Lea’s working profile includes employment in State Government, Federal Government and in the education sector.
Returning to her passion and roots in industrial relations, Lea enjoys the continued challenges provided by her role as Consultancy Team Leader with Employsure.
Chloe Roberts-Young studied a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Human Resources from Macquarie University. During her studies, she developed a passion for the complex nature of Australian Industrial Relations and started her career in the public sector as Human Resources Generalist. After gaining insightful experience in best practice human resources within local government, Chloe joined Employsure as an office based Employer Relations Consultant.
As an office Consultant, Chloe is an integral part of the fast paced and dynamic Consultancy team at Employsure. She is exposed to a diverse range of SMEs in varying industries, and is able to follow her passion of assisting clients with their employment relations matters.
Chloe enjoys the challenge of Modern Award interpretation and is looking forward to growing her expertise in this field. She brings with her three years of unique small business experience, as well as two years of human resources experience.
Mark is a passionate and dedicated safety and risk management professional, who specialises in building integrated safety cultures within operational teams. Mark’s acute sense of business acumen stems from his comprehensive experience in a range of industries including retail, transport and logistics, education, manufacturing, health, food safety, recruitment and construction.
Mark strives for continuous improvement outcomes, and has been particularly successful in working with teams to achieve practical, and innovative solutions to real problems. Mark specialises in risk management, behavioural safety, manual handling, office ergonomics, material handling equipment, workplace training and assessment, and return to work injury management.
Mark is quick to establish rapport with his peers and clients, which is backed by his easy going and pleasant demeanour.
Sharon completed a her Business degree, majoring in Management and Finance in 2009. She then went on to complete a certificate four in work health and safety, and rehabilitation and return to work, after commencing work for UAM Pty Ltd in February 2009.
Sharon has also completed an ICAM Lead Investigator course, Traffic Management to auditor level, certificate four in Training and Assessment, and is a certified drug and alcohol tester.
During her employment as the Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Manager for UAM Pty Ltd, Sharon was responsible for the management of safety, quality, environment and compliance training within the electrical utilities sector.
Sharon has extensive experience with a high risk JAZ ANZ accredited management system and work environment. She has the proven ability to achieved organisational compliance and maintain standards across all operations, through effective analysis and application of best practice to improve outcomes.
As an Employsure Work Health and Safety Consultant, Sharon enjoys being able to provide clients with assistance in understanding their workplace safety requirements.
Esther has a varied and interesting background, starting with a physiotherapy qualification. After years of treating the aftermath of many workplace injuries, she moved across to general management, injury management and safety in the workplace. Esther holds qualifications in management, human factors in safety, training and assessment and auditing.
Prior to joining Employsure, Esther worked in health, logistics, warehousing and labour hire companies, local and state government in management, human resource and work health and safety roles. Whilst in these roles, she had excellent success in reducing injuries and their associated costs.
In May 2016, Esther joined Employsure as a Work Health and Safety Consultant. Here her pragmatic experience in implementing a work health and safety system is assisting Employsure clients to ensure fair and safe workplaces.
Larry has over 35 years experience in work health and safety, working with the NSW Department of Health and the NSW WorkCover Authority.
As an inspector Larry worked in the Professional Services Section undertaking industrial hygiene surveys across a wide range of industries, particularly in relation to noise, ergonomics and indoor air quality. Over the last 20 years Larry has been responsible for leading and managing a range of teams within WorkCover, including the audit team during the construction of many of the Olympic Games facilities. Larry was also responsible for developing a commercial audit team within WorkCover that successfully tendered for major contracts across Australia.
Immediately prior to joining Employsure, Larry was the Operational Manager of one of WorkCover’s two Metropolitan teams.
Larry has tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, Business Management (IR), and Electrical Engineering.
Lyn Oaten has a Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety, an Associate Diploma of Applied Science in Environmental Studies and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. She has also completed many specialised training courses relating to safety management.
Lyn always focuses on the best outcomes for safety, ensuring the well-being of individuals at work and the protection of businesses from a compliance perspective. She is passionate about her work supporting small and medium businesses to manage safety in an integrated and simplified way.
She has worked as a National Safety Systems Manager in retail, Safety Manager for a major airport and Safety and Strategy Business Partner in local government.
Lyn has also worked as a Principal Inspector for SafeWork SA and in that role gained experience across all industry sectors and provided information and support to employers, employer groups and industry working parties for safety.
Undertaking joint project work with WorkCover SA, she also has experience in rehabilitation and return work and the wider complex issues faced by employers. With this knowledge, Lyn understands how her assistance can help employers promote wellness and successful operational outcomes.
Lyn joined Employsure in 2015 as a Health and Safety Consultant, where her excellent technical knowledge and dedication to successful outcomes for clients has made her a valuable member of the Victorian team.
Lyn provides practical and reliable solutions as a result of her attention to detail and empathy for her client’s needs.
James has over 10 years of experience in the field of work health and safety. In this time James has held the position of Site Safety Coordinator on the Northern Territory Secure Facility (NTSF) construction project in Darwin. NTSF was a $500 million construction project completed by the Lend Lease and Sitzler joint venture. James was employed by the principle contractor to provide direct supervision and contractor management for the project which, at its peak, had a workforce of 1,000 workers per day.
James is an experienced Work Health and Safety Consultant, specialising in general health and safety advice, and occupational hygiene services. His experience comes from working with small to medium organisations in a range of industries, to large government organisations such as the Department of Defence and the Power and Water Corporation.
James’ practical experience includes developing and reviewing work health and safety management systems, safe work method statements and other risk assessments, direct safety training and consultation.
James’ experience is supported by a Master of Occupational Health and Safety and a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science).
Douglas Howard is a highly experienced health and safety specialist and is also experienced in employment relations. Doug has a great understanding of state based legislative requirements, he has specialist experience in work health and safety compliance in a portfolio of services ranging from environmental science, geotechnical engineering and project management within the public and private sectors.
Doug commenced at Employsure in January 2015 as a Field Consultant, advanced to Team Leader of Consultancy Services for NSW and the ACT and is now the National Work Health and Safety Practice Leader. Doug works directly with Field Consultants undertaking health and safety compliance reviews and is a critical driver for cross skilling the Consulting workforce for the purpose of improving the client experience. He is a firm believer in “safety improvements come from lessons learnt” and is experienced in the implementation of management systems that are simple to understand and implement into businesses. Doug very much enjoys coming up with realistic solutions that make valued change.
Cindy’s background in administration has enabled her to understand not only the people aspects of businesses, but also the financial constraints that they constantly face. Cindy spent many years as a Return to Work Coordinator, assisting injured workers return to the workforce and achieving functional outcomes between her employers, insurance agencies, medical professionals and those injured. A comprehensive understanding of WorkCover and injury causation was the result. This drove Cindy to study Occupational Health and Safety and soon opportunities to work in injury prevention arose.
Cindy hold a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. Her industry experience is diverse and covers state government, the motor industry, logistics, printing, manufacturing, major events, hospitality, construction and horse racing. Small and medium enterprises are her speciality. She uses her knowledge and ability to connect with people of all backgrounds and industries to reach compliant, practical solutions in health and safety.
Cindy began working with Employsure in April 2015 as a Work Health and Safety Consultant based west of Melbourne and enjoys sharing her knowledge by presenting at seminars and training sessions.
Greg was admitted lawyer in the Supreme Court of NSW in 2010 and has over nine years experience as a workplace relations specialist.
Greg worked as a Workplace Relations Policy Adviser with the Federal Government for seven years. For the last two years Greg has been providing workplace relations advice to small to medium businesses.
Greg specialises in workplace relations policy development and implementation, Enterprise Agreement development and has a sound understanding of contracts and independent contractors.
In his current role as an Employsure Consultant, Greg will work in partnership with your business to develop an understanding of your operations, business needs and assist in delivering outcomes that ensures your business stays on top of rapidly changing workplace regulations.
Barb Channing is a Work Health and Safety Consultant who has broad industry consulting experience. She has worked for some of the world’s most recognised organisations, within a broad range of industries across 30 countries.
Barb’s experience spans across national and international workplaces in health and safety, injury management, employee relations, corporate investigations and auditing. She specialised in stabilising workplaces using behavioural based safety strategies linked to clients’ investment in their employees.
Barb provides solutions in specialised functions to develop framework and systems to enable organisations to achieve greater performance with their people. Barb’s work includes multi-function human resources, change management, occupational health, injury management, investigations, risk and safety services.
Following the completion of International Business Studies and Politics at Murdoch University, Western Australia, Rhyana gained over 9 years experience as a human resource professional, expanding across a variety of industries.
Her specialty is in human resource generalist roles, which has previously included a senior management role for a small oil and gas organisation in Western Australia.
Throughout her career, Rhyana has gained extensive knowledge and experience in organisational change management, project and personnel management, long term human resource forecasting, Enterprise Bargaining Agreement creation and negotiation, end to end recruitment and the creation of company management plans, policies and procedures.
Human resource legislation and organisational development are Rhyana’s passion. She enjoys helping her clients by educating and training them in best practice, so they can successfully minimise issues leading to an overall positive working environment.
Before joining Employsure, Richard practiced as an independent Employment Relations Consultant, advising a wide range of small to medium businesses in all areas of employment relations and workplace health and safety. While representing clients on matters such as unfair dismissal, general protections and underpayment of wage claims, Richard built a strong understanding of the processes and strategies needed to defend a rage of Fair Work claims.
During his career, Richard held senior roles with large employers, building a broad range of people management skills and an ability to communicate overall goals of the business to a diverse range of employees.
Whilst studying a Bachelor of Business and Administration, majoring in Employment Relations, Richard received a scholarship from the Griffith University Business Faculty to participate in an exchange program with the University of Hong Kong. Whilst here, Richard was privileged enough to study International Business Communications and Strategic Human Resource Management which helped him gain an insight on international management strategies and practices. His studies also saw Richard gain a Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety.
Through his outstanding knowledge and experience, Richard helps Employsure clients, across varying industries, achieve complete peace of mind.
Following the completion of a Bachelor of Business and Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management, Adrian spent nine years in employment relations based roles, which ignited his passion for this field.
Prior to joining Employsure, Adrian spent the majority of his career working as an Adviser and Workplace Relations Consultant at Business SA, providing him with exceptional knowledge of the SA industrial relations system.
Adrian thrives on assisting clients navigate the ever changing employment landscape and ensuring compliance. By nature, Adrian is open, respectful, honest and constructive, allowing him to deliver outstanding result across a multitude of industry types.
Ibrahim has an extensive background in human resources and industrial relations, stemming from his time working in human resource generalist roles within large corporations in the private sector.
His specialty areas include policy development and implementation, performance management, employment and work health and safety compliance, training and development, Enterprise Bargaining Agreements and working through claims such as unfair dismissals and general protections.
Ibrahim’s strength lies in his ability to provide commercial advice to small and medium enterprises in a pragmatic way, allowing owners to fully recognise their requirements and identify areas in which they may be liable. Ibrahim has the experience and knowledge to provide sound solutions and options that will assist in eliminating risk, across varying industries.
Ibrahim is near completion of a double degree in Bachelors of Business and Commerce, with majors in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations, and a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Western Sydney.
Andrew Sail is an employment relations professional with a career spanning 20 years.
Following the completion of an Industrial Relations degree, specialising in Economics and Law from the University of Wollongong, Andrew followed a career path working collaboratively with small businesses and large multinationals, both inside and outside a union environment. This type of experience has given him impressive firsthand experience in the day to day management of employees, including the negotiation of large scale enterprise agreements, covering thousands of employees.
Andrew has furthered his employment relations knowledge by adding learning and development as well as Workplace Health and Safety to his qualifications.
Andrew’s position as a Senior Employment Relations and WHS Consultant sees him continually utilise his intimate understanding of the issues facing businesses. His various roles in managing teams ensures his advice is practical and realistic.
His experience in managing both small and medium sized businesses, across a variety of industries, supports his passion for working with people and simplifying complex situations into smaller, achievable, commercially sound steps, which ultimately help businesses and its employees achieve and get rewarded.
Elizabeth holds a Master’s Degree in Business Law from Monash University, with a specialisation in Employment Law.
Prior to joining Employsure, Elizabeth worked in Victoria’s health sector in the role of HR Adviser, advising a workforce of over 2,000 full time equivalent staff.
Elizabeth’s experience also includes working as a Workplace Relations Adviser at the Victorian employer’s chamber where she provided specialised advice to employers on day to day management and compliance with employment legislation.
Elizabeth has participated in the development of workplace relations policies for a major public transport provider in Melbourne, as well as project work consulting with Victoria’s local councils on the creation of their industry specific Modern Award.
Elizabeth joined Employsure in 2014. She embraces the opportunity to assist clients to navigate their obligations under the Modern Award system, advising on ways to implement practical solutions and ensure compliance with Australia’s complex employment relations and workplace health and safety systems.
Stephen has lived and worked in Australia for six years, in which time he has worked as a human resource generalist, employment relations adviser and a consultant.
From Scottish decent, Stephen received a Business Management Degree from the University of Glasgow and from there, moved into a graduate management position within an international Glasgow based business. Stephen also lived and worked in London prior to making the move to our Australian shores.
Prior to joining Employsure, Stephen spent two years working with the Qld and NSW Business Chambers in an adviser’s role amongst the Businesses Workplace Advice Team. It was here, dealing with front line queries, that proved to be the perfect introduction to Australian workplace relations, setting his career trajectory.
Upon joining Employsure, Stephen spent eighteen months working as a Field Consultant before stepping into his current position as Team Leader of Consultancy Services for Qld and NT.
Stephen’s core strengths and passion lies in his ability to understand and analyse client needs quickly and accurately. In addition, he has exceptional talent when it comes to the interpretation of complex workplace legislation and application of best practice employee management solutions.
Tanya began her career in employment relations following the completion of Human Resources and Industrial Relations at Curtin University. Her passion lead her down the human resource path, allowing her to polish her specialised skills in the mining and manufacturing industries.
Home grown to Western Australia, Tanya has the knowledge and experience required to understand local business needs, along with a long term appreciation of state based legislative requirements. She also gained five years international experience working in the United Kingdom. This presented her an opportunity to diversify her knowledge and gain valued experience in business transfer, while managing contracts for a team of employees commissioning a manufacturing plant in China.
The highlight of Tanya’s career stems from her experience with a range of small to large enterprises and today, she thoroughly enjoys presenting realistic solutions to impact real change.
Tanya has enjoyed a career with Employsure as Team Leader of Consultancy Service for WA and SA since April 2013.
Thomas Rose is a Consultancy Services Team Leader based in Victoria. Tom has completed a Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management), Diploma of Human Resources and Certificate IV’s in Work Health and Safety, Human Resource Management and Workplace Training and Assessment. After a number of years as a Senior Consultant, Tom now leads a team of skilled professionals delivering services to Employsure clients.
Tom prides himself on his ability to communicate seemingly complex employment relations and workplace safety matters in a clear, concise and logical manner.
With a very diverse background, Tom has experience in a range of industries including retail, hospitality, accounting, commercial fisheries, engineering, tourism and professional services. These experiences have assisted Tom in quickly understanding all his client’s needs and allow him to tailor practical solutions on all employment and safety related matters.
Having grown up in a small country town, Tom prides himself on understanding all the needs of small businesses. Adaptable and resourceful by nature, Tom is an expert at customising his approach and his work methods to the needs of each individual client.
Jansu Sanli is a senior consultant based in Victoria and has been with Employsure since 2014. She graduated University with Honours in Bachelor of Law and has also completed numerous employment relations specialised training courses including a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
Before joining Employsure, Jansu worked as an Employment Relations Adviser at the Victorian Employer’s Chamber of Commerce. Here, she assisted employers with a broad range of workplace issues, whilst developing a strong foundation in various areas of industrial relations.
Jansu has also worked as a solicitor in personal injury law, which has given her valuable insight into a range of complex issues often faced by employers.
Jansu’s attention to detail and compassionate attitude ensures that she helps her clients with all their employment relations and workplace health and safety needs. Jansu is passionate about teaching her clients practical and reliable solutions to assist with their future success.
Following the completion of a Bachelor of Law and Legal Practice, Jerusha was admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia and commenced work at the Australian Mines and Metals Association (AMMA) as an Industrial Relations Consultant. She also worked for the Agribusiness Employers Federation as an Employee Relations Consultant.
After AMMA, Jerusha gained invaluable experience at Elders Limited as an in house Employee Relations Adviser, working with 4,000 employees. This was an exceptionally diverse environment which included employees in the banking, trading, insurance and agriculture sectors.
Prior to joining Employsure, Jerusha broadened her skills even further with a stint in the not for profit sector, working with Anglicare SA.
Jerusha’s wealth of experience covers advising, interpreting and drafting of awards, collective and enterprise agreements, as well as contracts, policies and procedures. She has also represented employers at a number of industrial and other workplace related tribunals and commissions, defending claims.
In 2009, Louisa completed a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Human Resources and Marketing, and has spent the last six years focusing on developing her human resources and employment relations skills.
Coming from a generalist human resources background, Louisa is highly experienced across all facets, including employee relations, performance management, training and development, termination, recruitment and selection and general human resource administration.
Louisa is driven by her love for working with business owners and employers to thoroughly understand their needs. She has a vast amount of experience in successfully dealing with employment related issues, and providing the tools to identify differing levels of risk, while successfully finding solutions to suit the business needs.
Louisa prides herself on her passion for customer service and ability to help achieve company vision, strategy and goals.
Emma is passionate about assisting clients to set their business up for continued success through implementing systems and processes. She brings with her a wealth of experience as a practised consultant, human resource generalist, health and safety advisor as well as the understanding that comes from being a small business owner.
Her experience working with clients across a wide range of industries allows her to appreciate industry specific challenges and competently advise on employment and workplace health and safety related systems and procedures in consideration of the business conditions.
Emma has previously worked in HR with international hotels across Australia and the South Pacific and in the public health system incorporating hospitals, mental health and allied health services. She has studied hotel management, human resources, and workplace health and safety and has previously worked as a return to work coordinator.
Having also run a medium-sized restaurant and bar operation for several years, Emma has a firm grasp on the challenges associated with running an SME business and is well positioned to provide pragmatic HR and workplace health and safety solutions for clients.
She has a proven ability to methodically work through complex problems and is a proficient champion of change in the workplace.
Claire has been part of Employsure since August 2014 in the role of Employment Relations Consultant.
Following the completion of a Bachelor of Human Resources and Employment Relations at Griffith University, she began her career at the United Firefighters Union QLD as an Industrial Relations Officer.
Claire’s extensive experience continued, securing a remote fly-in, fly- out, human resource generalist role with Leighton Contractors, working on a major civil construction project. In this role she was responsible for managing the site’s human resources function focusing on industrial relations, learning and development, training, recruitment and performance management. Subsequently, she transitioned to a position within aged care, looking after workplace relations and human resources policies, while managing workplace investigations.
Claire’s passion lies in supporting our clients, understanding requirements and finding the most appropriate solutions across varied industries.
Melissa studied a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws at the University of Wollongong, majoring in Industrial Relations and Employment Law. During her study, she was awarded the Ern Ferris prize for excellence in industrial relations for her performance in the Negotiation, Advocacy and Bargaining unit.
Melissa began her career advising union members of award conditions and entitlements, before eventually managing a large team of industrial relations advisers.
Melissa was amongst the first Employsure employees, joining us in 2011 and has since worked across a number of departments. Commencing as an Adviser, she was responsible for providing advice on the varying range of employer concerns. It was during this time she represented her clients in a number of claims before the Fair Work Commission and Fair Work Ombudsman.
Melissa then advanced to a Senior Adviser and now specialises in compliance, in her position as Senior Employment Relations Consultant.
Julian joined Employsure in June 2015 and brought with him a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Julian has worked in a range of human resource generalist and employee relations roles within the NSW Government and Healthcare. Prior to joining Employsure he was the Human Resources Manager as part of NSW Health Pathology. This experience lead him to obtain invaluable experience working with and assisting senior managers to manage people, projects and initiatives.
Julian works closely with Employsure’s diverse range of clients to understand their businesses and requirements, while delivering tailored outcomes and solutions. The best part of his role as Field Consultant, is meeting and getting to know each client and helping them to with the management of their people, ultimately leading to enhanced success.
