The employer Advice Line takes 33,000 calls per month from a client base of 30,000 businesses. The latest data from the Advice Line reveals the following emerging trends:
- Vaccination related calls surged a further 187% in October over September as small business owners continue to struggle with the rules around vaccine mandates
- Employee status queries (casual, permanent, apprentice, etc) rose 20% in October over September mainly due to the 27 September casual conversion law deadline
- Risk management calls in August – October up 93% compared to January – March as employers work to maximise workplace safety living in a COVID-19 world
- Redundancy related calls dropped by 47% in August – October when compared with the same quarter last year, indicating employers at this stage of the pandemic are more confident managing their employees and business
- Wage related calls in October were the lowest they’ve been all year – expected to pick up again as the busy Christmas / summer period approaches
