Employsure’s new video series takes a peek at Australian small businesses to understand the challenges, achievements and motivation behind the nation’s small businesses. This month, Ursula of The Source Bulk Foods in Glebe shares her stories on her experience of running a business.

There are two things that make it really worth it. One is actually being with the family a little bit more, really a lot more, but also being able to give back. Whether that be to the staff or the community, but actually to be able to give back. To be able to provide people with what they want.
In the corporate world, the one big positive is that you have a massive team around you of resources. Google can only help you so far. Sooner or later you need to actually talk to somebody who is an expert in the field and that’s where I found Employsure.
Have a plan. Understand your market, understand what your break-even point is, where your costs are going, all of that before you even think of opening your doors. When you do open the doors, make sure that you stick to the plan. Adjust it if you need to but make sure that you understand that there is a journey that you’re going to go on, there will be ups and downs, but trust in your plan.
