Changes for reach stacker licences in NSW
For those operating a reach stacker in New South Wales, from 1 July 2017 there is a requirement to hold a high-risk work licence, class RS, or a slewing mobile crane licence of class C0, C1, C2 or C6 to continue operating stackers with a capacity of more than three tonnes in NSW.
A reach stacker incorporates an attachment for lifting, moving and travelling with a shipping container, but does not include a portainer crane.
Importantly, licence applications made before 1 July 2017 are free. For help with workplace health and safety contact Employsure on 1300 651 415.
