A restaurateur on the Central Coast in NSW will be out of pocket $36,168 after underpaying staff and then failing to co-operate with Fair Work inspectors and rectify payroll errors.

The employer has been fined a total of $23,990 for failing to comply with notices issued by Fair Work inspectors. The employer did not produce employment records upon request and failed to comply with a compliance notice to back pay employees $12,178 in wages and entitlements.

The Federal Circuit Court in Sydney has the employees to be back-paid in full.
