Flexible Working arrangementsFebruary 28, 2014
The Government yesterday introduced its proposed reforms to workplace laws including changes to individual flexibility arrangements (IFAs) and new restrictions on unions entering workplaces.
Employment Minister Eric Abetz said that the bill would contain a series of protections for workers entering into IFAs and that only a worker could approach an employer for an IFA. Employers will not be allowed to force a worker to sign one.
Employers welcomed the bill, particularly the changes to the rules for Greenfields projects and the restrictions on unions entering workplaces.
The changes are not expected to become law before July.
