My name is James Porteous, I run Organic
Solutions Limited. We have a large
Organic Farm close to Oamaru. We use the
vegetables from The Organic Farm.
We have Thai food restaurants in
Queenstown, Wanaka and Cromwell in the
deep south of New Zealand we also have
an organic veggie box service for
customers and we also have organic ready
meals.
I bought a Thai Food restaurant, we soon realized
there's a very competitive environment
in Queenstown here, so we went organic on
the food we started free delivery we
have a fleet of electric cars to deliver
the food. With the organic vegetables we
can provide the best tasting Thai food. I
thought maybe it's time to become a bit
more self-sufficient but more
sustainable we've got global warming
happening let's start a business that
can maybe try to address that but also
offer some great food. I can look at my
children in the eye and say I'm leaving
a future for you that's that's going to
be better than it was before.
So we're approached by the Employsure team
it was very good timing We were
about to purchase the organic farm. We're
growing very quickly and so many
differing roles in the company with the
chefs or delivery drivers. The 0800
number for Employsure acts as an HR
person down the hallway for us so that
really worked for us. Labor Law changes
quite often employment law changes quite
often it's very hard to keep up with
that, so Employsure will advise us
and we update that and make sure our
contracts are all fully up to date so
I'd say definitely yes they've helped us
grow we can prove that Organics is not
just good for you but also profitable
the fact that we're life on Earth is
provided by six inches of soil and some
rain great food comes from great soil
