This episode of Small business state of mind brings Leo Li to the screen as he outlines challenges he faces running his construction business. The concerns Leo raises are sure to be common across many Australian small businesses.

I don’t like to talk about this much but I go to bed thinking about work. I’m on holidays pretending to… I’m not pretending. I do enjoy my holidays generally but, and it’s not something that you want to do where you go – “ahh I want to think about work.”

You know, I know it’s not fair to everybody else that’s with you, but you can’t help it when you run a business. That’s what happens, you just, your mind’s always on it.

Quality is what’s building the relationships, but if we have the common aim of providing a top quality job and ultimately, you know, handing over something that will really make the client really happy and everyone walks away with a sense of pride as well, and the long-term advantage is sustainable work for everyone.

A core belief of my own that I’ve believed in for a very long time: If you work for the passion profits will follow If you work for the profits you’re a slave to money.
