What do I do if one of my workers has an

accident?

Business owners have a responsibility to

immediately notify or report a workplace

incident to their state or territory

incident has occurred at work.

The steps to follow if such an event

occurs are: As a priority you should provide first

aid and seek medical assistance for the

injured worker. Contact emergency services on Triple

zero. Preserve the site including any plant

substance or structure but ensure that

no one else is going to be injured.

Sites can be disturbed if to protect a

person's health and safety, help someone

who is injured or make an area safe.

Finally you should contact Employsure's

Health and Safety Advice Line on 1300

651-415 where we can assist you to

determine if the events fit into the

category of the notifiable incident, and

ensure that you meet your health and

safety obligations when notifying the

regulator
